Share a Bird For Access Art

painting of an osprey

I recently responded to an appeal from Access Art for birds. The idea is that artists donate a bird that they have created (drawing, painting or sculpture, etc.) and this is then given to a school as an inspiration for discussion - and hopefully the creation of more art.

I decided to paint an osprey, as they are majestic creatures, but also can be seen in the UK, despite being only seasonal visitors. I hope my acrylic paint avian made the journey ok and found a good home/school. I called it 'Wide Awake' - referring to the widescreen effect of its great wingspan, but also how alert the bird has to be to spy the fish it feeds on.
